Road trip!

had a short family trip to central/eastern penn. of course, we had our essentials... ali has her suckers, crayons, books and yes, stickers! zac? all he needs is food (see face)

road trips have to include some history. the dada took the gang to the carlisle barracks where many different schools of the military have been. currently a 'war college', it also housed the native american (and famously jim thorpe) children who were 'civilized' under the dawes act. ali just wanted to be free from the car seat. you see her in thorpe hall where the indian children exercised. today? a bit renovated.

...a trip into lancaster to the market. and it's so much more fun to be fed by your cousins than your parents. thanks paige and ella!

...and, of course, the wedding (the reason for the trip). we saw jon and jenny in all their splendor (their beautiful location in amish country sure didn't hurt too) and the grove they had their wedding in was fabulous. we had to get family pics and ali and zac just loved being outside. note the intersection next to the location as well as a pa. sunset over a dairy's wheat field.

...and a day walking Philly to see the Liberty Bell, Franklin's grave as well as have some cheesesteaks at Jim's

...and our first haircuts! ali had very little taken off but zac looks so much more boy than baby.
